Wonderful Work, Wonderful Food, Rebecka's House Quilt and More on My Retreat and Why YOU Should Attend!

I enjoy testing out handouts for a block with my swap group on Yahoo. We have swapped many different kinds of blocks and I will be handing out the latest ones at my retreat this June. Rebecka who is from Nebraska participated in the swap of house and also trees. She put the two swaps together and look what she got in the way of a fabulous Quilt! Wait until you see it done and with the border...I had to show it early because it is so wonderful. If you are STUCK and IN the box instead of OUT of the Box come to the retreat and see how happy your artist will be to come OUT and play!
The photo above is from my class last week in Lincoln Nebraska, it was so much fun and everyone came out and did wonderful work!

The retreat always begins with dinner at a GOOD Mexican restaurant so we can meet one another. And for those that want to pack in more fun, we attend the "Farm Chicks" antiques and collectibles show which is fabulous and Art in the Park in downtown Spokane for jewelry and art of many medias...SO fun!
Kathy Sandling did this quilt from the Flower Power book...isn't it wonderful?

The quilt is already to show her daughter in law in the yard with a really cute hat! Drawing below. Dawn made many wonderful story quilts and cows and birds and super things with great ideas!

Here is Sandy Appleby from Bozeman who worked on her Italy story quilt. And it's finished and a prize winner....like many story quilts are.
Toasting to friendship and quilts!
Here is Miss Laurie from Lopez who made hot bread out of the oven for us!
Fabulous meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) made by expert cooks (my girlfriends Laurie, Nancy and this year and last year Miss Tina from LA).
NEW and lasting friendships
Sweet and talented Sue from Idaho makes original and fun blocks for story quilt about her house and building it...

Charlotte is Laura's sister and a great help and cheerleader to other students and me too
Mari Linfesty is a big part of the retreats too-she takes the swap blocks and puts them into fabulous quilts...I have a whole new batch of directions for cool blocks this year so don't miss out!

  2. Great pictures Mary Lou, love what Rebecca has done with her house and tree block, makes me want to start playing with mine now that my trees have made it north across the border.

The watering can swap should be another fun one!

Thanks for all the inspiration you share with us.
