My front yard....I like this little girl on my gate...she makes me happy....our rose arbour was so pretty this year... mark likes taking care of the grass and I like the flowers and tomatoes.....
Below Mark sits with his peeps as he calls them. It is such a blessing to have them here as they are so easy to love and they give love back in a beautiful way.
Front yard ...I love our flag here and there...it makes me happy
I love my huge hosta, my garden gives e great joy and a chance to reflect....
My daughter in law made a poster for Mark on the day he came home from the hospital. I drew in the faces...now it is colored and adorable...I will take a photo...the Grandkids colored it and we all loved it. Mark was very touched.
Connie, my neighbor took fabric I had chosen for a flower swap we had going on Yahoo. She made 20 of these flowers to swap...so fun. Isn't she good? It is a blessing to have a neighbor who is so good to me. I am blessed.
We went to Cancer Care Northwest this last week and met two of the Drs. One is a radiologist/oncologist and he looks about 16 years old....he has had all kinds of experience and came from the Mayo Clinic. The other Dr is a hemotologist/oncologist and he is a cute guy with dimples who Mark said "is a brain." I liked him the best and Mark liked the kid that looks like he just got his drivers license. We learned alot and they have nutritionists and counselors etc. He is starting to have a little anger in that he resents having to go all of these places and have me drive. He used to drive everywhere. He is going back and forth between wishing he had a corvette or a cadillac. I would be wishing for a sewing machine or something...but that is me.
People have asked what they can do. Mark loves postcards. If you could get an interesting post card of where you live and mail it, he would LOVE it. The address is 1521 N.Argonne #276, Spokane Valley, WA 99212.
We could use prayer also for Mark to get into a trial....he may not be able to get in because he had prostate cancer last Fall. I told the Drs. I was having people pray and that I thought that would work. :0)
Thank you sincerely for your sweet comments. Mark has GBM cancer stage 4 and the tumor will be back and he is terminal. I hope to enjoy what time her has left. I am praying that I can get our last bills paid by my working. Family has offered to stay with Mark so I can do this for awhile.
I am waiting to see what each day brings and as my friend Laura said "stay on today's page, you don't go straight to the back of the book, after today's page, you turn and see what tomorrow brings.
I love YOU my blog friend....hope you are counting your many blessings.
I am
Thank you, Mary Lou, for sharing Mark's happy face with his grandchildren - what a great picture! Thank you, too, for sharing all the pretty pictures of your garden - it is beautiful! You have such a good neighbor to sew all those pretty flowers!
ReplyDeleteWe will continue to pray for you and your family. My brother was in the same situation three years ago.
Postcards? For sure! Happy to do that for you and Mark!
My prayers are definitely coming for you and Mark and sorry to hear the news. Your gardens are beautiful and I love the flower lady piece, I need to get my husband to make me some.

Mary Lou, Mark and family you are all being lifted up in prayer. May you feel God's love and presence surrounding you.
ReplyDeleteOh Mary Lou, I am so sorry for this news. I will promise to pray everyday for Mark and for you. I thought of this quote From, "The Hiding Place" and was able to find it which was a miracle in itself. I have thought of this often over my life and have found it to be true.
ReplyDelete“Father sat down on the edge of the narrow bed. "Corrie," he began gently, "when you and I go to Amsterdam-when do I give you your ticket?"
I sniffed a few times, considering this.
"Why, just before we get on the train."
"Exactly. And our wise Father in heaven knows when we're going to need things, too. Don't run out ahead of Him, Corrie. When the time comes that some of us will have to die, you will look into your heart and find the strength you need-just in time.”
― Corrie ten Boom, The Hiding Place
Enjoy this day may it bring you blessings you never expected. Hugs your way.
Always praying and thinking of you! Love to you both from Bev

Hi Mary Lou! I am so sorry to hear your news. Warm wishes and prayers coming your way from Norway!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you Marylou, I am not a praying person. But trust in your Drs. That they will do the best for Mark that modern medicine can provide.
ReplyDeleteYou inspire so many, keep it up.

Hi Mary Lou, So sorry to hear of Mark's prognosis. My DH had a very aggressive prostate cancer. It is gone but the treatment left him with a heart problem and he is terminal also. I'm choosing to think of it this way. We are all terminal from the moment we are born. Now we know about how long DH has; not great but better than not knowing. He was healed of a painful, horrible disease. The side effects are not what we want, but God is in charge. He makes the decisions, not me. I will choose to live each day as it comes knowing that God's grace will sustain us and bring us through this valley. I'm praying for you and for Mark as well as the whole family.
ReplyDeleteTime spent in laughter and making memories is the best investment of all...and that is my heartfelt wish for you...
ReplyDeleteGod Bless You...real good!
Praying for you Marylou. My oldest sons fiancé's mother has what sounds like the very same thing. We are all hoping for the best.
